Founded by Mr Charles Saunders in 1865, the firm’s clients were mostly private individuals and small companies, requiring professional property management services throughout the UK – delivered with a highly personal, first-class service.

Fast forward to the 1980s, and Saunders 1865 has gone from strength to strength; growing to become specialists in in international Employee relocation services. Our business may have evolved over the last 100 years or so, but today our commitment to our clients is as strong as it's always been.
We're still as passionate as ever about providing a first-class service to the companies and organizations that we work with the world over – many of whom are North American corporations looking for comprehensive relocation support in Europe.

Providing extensive international relocation services to corporations since the late 1980s, many of whom were urgently looking to make quick and cost-efficient moves from Europe to North America.

The company's founder, Charles Saunders, based his philosophy on two core principles.

Today, we still make things as personal as possible:
- Our approach – it's a far cry from the call-center approach where clients seldom speak to the same person twice
- We talk – it sounds obvious, but we believe it makes a huge difference. That's why we speak to our clients about their needs, and issues, and make everything as easy as possible for them.
- We're flexible – We're a boutique firm, which makes it easier for us to adapt our programs to our clients’ requirements.
- We understand – that every client is different and we don’t expect our clients to have to bend to fit our programs and systems.
- We respond rapidly - to all service requests. We return phone calls and answer emails promptly.
- These seem small things, but in our experience they are things that customers care very much about – yet so many businesses are bad at them!
- We don’t lock our clients in to long-term contracts – we let them decide whether they want to go on using us based on how we’ve performed.
- We're a big happy family - we form close working relationships & long term friendships with our clients, who are like extended family to us. We become an extension of our corporate client’s HR team.

16 years ago, one of the most successful global banks decided to move their European relocation work to Saunders 1865 (and away from one of the very large relocation companies).
